Beyond Limits Outdoor Education
In consultation with school groups, Beyond Limits’ designs and delivers a broad range of experiential learning and extra-circular school camp and adventure camp programs and workshops at UVSA sites and beyond. Beyond Limits’ outdoor education school camp and adventure camp programs and workshops are designed to promote participation, communication, teamwork, leadership and initiative and will always be appropriate to the age, skills and experience of the participants. Beyond Limits’ extra-circular school camp programs and workshops are designed to enhance awareness and understanding of a broad range of issues such as social justice, culture and history, science and the environment.
UVSA understands that effective facilitation is critical to achieving the best possible outcomes for school camp and edventure camp participants. Beyond Limits’ facilitation staff undergo a vigorous selection process and are appropriately skilled and trained to facilitate activities in variable conditions. Beyond Limits’ staff are skilled in extracting valuable teaching outcomes from each activity and pride themselves on their engagement with students.
Our program design will sequence activities to provide the best possible outcomes and each activity will be conducted in accordance with strict operating guidelines and risk management practices. Risk assessments are conducted and reviewed annually for each activity and are available to schools upon request.
Sequential Camps Experience
School camps and adventure camps provide unique learning opportunities which are often not able to be achieved in the classroom environment and generally leave students with a positive memory about their school years. Outcomes from multiple camps are enhanced when camps are scaffolded sequentially rather than held in isolation from one year to the next. UVSA believes in a philosophy of partnering with schools to help achieve a sequential camp experience, building on each year’s experience in order to provide students with the best possible outcomes from their school camp and adventure camp experiences.
