Located near much-loved Tumby Bay on the Eyre Peninsula, our Thuruna Campsite offers an unique opportunity to live on the shores of the spectacular and beautiful landscape of Spencer Gulf. ‘Thuruna’, an Aboriginal word meaning ‘together by the sea’, offers groups an affordable beachfront getaway. The camp boasts clean and comfortable facilities including Hamilton Cottage - providing up to 10 people with an unrestricted view of the Spencer Gulf – perfect for large families.

Accommodation

Thuruna provides dormitory and holiday accommodation - guests are expected to provide a sleeping bag and pillow.

The Main Complex offers bunk bed accommodation in four rooms - sleeping up to 80 guests. Two additional leaders rooms accommodates five guests in each. Both leaders rooms consist of a duo bunk (double bed and single bed) and a standard bunk bed.

Shared shower/toilet facilities are situated directly adjacent the sleeping accommodation.

Hamilton Cottage, situated adjacent to the Main Complex, is self-contained providing holiday accommodation for up to 10 guests.

The total bed capacity of Thuruna is 100.

Meeting Areas

Thuruna has two meeting areas available for use. Each meeting room varies in size and layout.

  • Dining / Meeting Room - 120 people
  • Multi purpose games room - 80 people

  • BBQ

Catering

Thuruna is a self-catering campsite with an excellent outdoor BBQ area.
